Alors que le « musical » est souvent décrit comme l’un des genres les plus caractéristiques du classicisme hollywoodien, ses relations avec le modèle du spectacle théâtral restent encore à éclairer. Ce projet vise à replacer le ’musical’ cinématographique et les formes spectaculaires qui font sa singularité dans leur contexte médiatique et culturel : les sources de Broadway, mais aussi la radio, le disque et la télévision.
